Overcoming Timeline Constraints and a Gas Line Crossing for Successful Water Main Installation Results
To overcome several project complexities, including a critical, compressed construction timeline and crossing of a gas transmission line, our team leaned on their decades of experience and dedication to teamwork for this water main installation project for Aqua Pennsylvania in West Brandywine Township, Chester County, PA. Our hardworking utility crews viewed the tight schedule as constant motivation, hitting milestone after milestone while staying focused on safety and minimizing disruption in the neighborhood where work was taking place.
Beyond the timeline constraints necessary to facilitate the start of another construction project in the area, complexities also included the water main install—a total of 8,500 linear feet of 12″ main pipe—needing to cross under a vital gas transmission line. Additionally, Manor Road, the thoroughfare above the water main, is a PennDOT roadway. These factors required close collaboration between our crews and all stakeholders, including the gas utility and government entities at the state and local levels. As an experienced underground utility contractor dedicated to providing Insight. On Site., our team facilitated communications to keep everything flowing efficiently and to ensure all parties were confident in the work being done. Our team provided additional services, including excavation and grading, vacuum excavation, and asphalt paving and milling.
