That Go Above and Beyond

Like many employers, Brubacher provides employees with strong traditional benefits. At Brubacher, we also offer our employees some benefits that go above and beyond* what's expected in the construction industry.

We know the normal ups and downs of a construction work schedule can sometimes mean a shortage of income for employees. That’s why:

  • Brubacher provides each hourly field employee with a pool of money to use during weeks when the employee works fewer than 40 hours.

And, Brubacher pays the full cost of medical insurance for employees who work fewer than 20 hours in a month during the first quarter each year.

Brubacher has a company 401(k) Retirement Plan for our employees. After you’ve been employee for three months, you can contribute up to 30% of your gross income each week. And Brubacher will match 50% of your contributions, up to 4% of your gross annual income.

Many construction companies expect workers who travel to distant job sites to do so at their own expense. Not Brubacher.

  • Our hourly employees who travel more than 45 miles from their Brubacher office receive an additional $35 per day.

In addition, Employees traveling to job sites more than 2 hours from their Brubacher office receive a per diem to assist with fuel and meal costs.

At Brubacher, we want our employees to have the opportunity to attend a college class, attain a college degree or complete a certificate program. That’s why:

  • Our Tuition Reimbursement plan covers 75% of books, fees, etc. – up to $2,500 per year.
  • And, we offer recent college grads up to $7,000 in tuition reimbursement over a 3-year period.

We understand that life can sometimes bring unexpected financial burdens. That’s why:

  • Brubacher’s owners maintain a Benevolence Fund that provides up to $2,000 as a gift to employees who are experiencing an unexpected financial hardship.

We know that, sometimes, life is hard, and you just need someone to talk to. That’s why:

  • Brubacher offers an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to all of our employees and their eligible family members that provides counseling services if you need them, and covers the cost of the first five sessions for each family member.

We also offer a Fitness Center for employees and their eligible family members free of charge.

Brubacher provides employees with six paid holidays each year as well as paid vacation time. Vacation benefits are pro-rated in the first year and increase based on the employee’s length of time with Brubacher, up to 20 days per year.

Medical: Select from among three Highmark Blue Shield options the one that’s best for you. Two of our plan options include a health savings account that provides pre-tax dollars that can be used to help pay for deductibles, co-pays and co-insurance costs.

Dental and Vision: Through Guardian and National Vision Administrators, employees may purchase dental and vision coverage. These plans pay 100% of covered services performed by participating providers and reimburse 100% of the allowable amount for services performed by non-participating providers.

Short-Term and Long-Term Disability: Brubacher provides our employees with short- and long-term disability coverage through Guardian Life Insurance Company. If you can’t work due to illness or non-work-related injury, the Short-Term plan pays a weekly benefit for up to 26 weeks. The Long-Term plan pays a weekly benefit for up to two years after Short Term Disability ends.

Life Insurance: We also provide employees with a $35,000 term accidental death and dismemberment policy. If you wish, you also may purchase additional policies through Guardian Life Insurance Company, such as supplemental term life, spouse term life, and dependent term life.
